Kayla Logan PR was founded just over a year ago while I, Kayla Logan, was completing my postgraduate degree in Public Relations at Western University.
We are a unique PR agency that has offers multiple services all in one fabulous place! I am personally a professional photographer, fashion stylist, graphic designer and events planner, who makes sure 100% of my clients feel special and that their needs are taken care of!
I have a background in criminology, sociology, political science and social work, which has provided me with a diverse knowledge base and skill set to assist all clients regardless of what market they are in. I guess wanting to become a lawyer, or social worker has had it’s benefits for my clients, especially when it comes to crisis and reputational management.
Having an educational background in social work and being a professional peer mentor certified by the government of Ontario has it’s benefits when your clients need a little behavioural, motivational and speech coaching .
One of the greatest moments of my life this year was becoming the first Canadian writer for PR COUTURE . Known as “The PR Fashion Bible.” PR Couture is ranked #4 globally for public relations and digital marketing websites. I believe they are ranked internationally #1 for Fashion PR as well! Since I focus on fashion PR, and have followed prcouture.com for many years, well before I ever considered a career in the industry, this has been such a great honor and a very exciting time for myself and Canadian fashion PR girls alike.
But, that’s just the beginning of my journey with PR Couture, I am moving to California in September, 2016, to work alongside Crosby Noricks the founder of PR COUTURE herself!!! It’s going to an incredible experience where I will be taking part in Fashion PR Confidential, a one-of-a-kind intensive fashion pr workshop that brings the industry right to you!!! Past attendees now work for companies and magazines such as Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.
Mental Health Advocate
In my personal life I am a dedicated and passionate mental health advocate. I have been published by The Ontario Human Rights Commission for sharing my lived experience with mental health, in a paper entitled “My Mental Illness Doesn’t Define Me!” You can read the full article by clicking on the link provided: http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/my-mental-illness-doesn’t-define-me .
In December, 2015, I nominated CONNECT For MENTAL HEALTH at the 100 Women Who Care London Meeting, where I shared my personal lived experiences and struggles with a group of over 200 women, who were then responsible to make a vote, based on the three organization’s who had won the nomination and presented. To my utter shock and amazement CONNECT For MENTAL HEALTH was chosen and we raised almost $20 000 to support mental health.
I have recently become the founder of the Broken Down Princess Campaign for mental health. I do say that all royalty is welcome, but the premise came from the idea that when you stigmatized for having this label you are treated as if you are broken. As children we were someone’s little princesses or prince, and we thought so too! But, through the stigmatization, discrimination and labelisation of individuals who are affected by mental health, society now sees us a broken. This campaign is to say that I was, and I still am someone’s little princess , so think about your children and think about the ways in which as a society we can be helping not hurting one another.
It may seem like I got my hands in a few different cookie jars, but I love everything I do and I thrive under pressure. I guess you can say I do a bit of everything? Well, I try to, and if I can’t do it I bet I know someone who can!
I believe in empowering and supporting women, small business owners, mental health advocacy and social justice; especially ones in my community- London, ON. I love fashion, and you can find me any day at one of the #downtown London boutiques browsing, and pulling clothing for a client or photo shoot.
Now that you really know who I am, it’s time I get the pleasure to meet and learn about you!
I look forward to speaking with you !
